Oven Baked Cauliflower "Wings"

For those who are searching for options to reduce your meat intake, these oven baked "wings" will fill you up without weighing you down.


Total Time: 30 Minutes (Prep - 5 Minutes / Cook - 25 Minutes)

Servings: 4


Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cut into 4 cups of florets

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon paprika or chili powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1 cup plain or panko breadcrumbs


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place a piece of parchment paper on two baking sheets and set aside. Wash and cut cauliflower head into bite-size pieces.

  2. Place breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl. Mix the milk, flour and spices in a medium mixing bowl.

  3. Dip the cauliflower in the batter, shake off excess batter, then dip into the breadcrumbs.

  4. Lay cauliflower in a single layer on the baking sheets. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 20-25 minutes or until crust is crispy and golden brown.


Tips

* If you want to make this dish vegan-friendly, use almond or soy milk as opposed to regular milk. You can also use water.

* For a gluten-free recipe, use gluten-free rice flour.

* Once baked, you can make your own sauce and coat the wings in a sauce.
