If you like broccoli, you'll enjoy eating cauliflower too. They are similar to each other; you can almost consider them cousins.
But cauliflower is the forgotten cousin. Many people overlook cauliflower, but it is a lot more versatile than people may realize. Especially in recent years, cauliflower has gotten a lot more respect as a low-carb option in a lot of recipes.
Why is it becoming popular? Because, at 27 calories, 5 grams of carbs and 2 grams of protein, this is a great way to be filled up without a lot of excess calories. They also have a lot of fiber and water, which can help with weight loss and building strong bones (but be aware of bloating when consuming too much fiber in your body).
And there are multiple ways to use it in recipes. It's the perfect ingredient to swap out for different ingredients, such as pastas, breads, a main entree, etc.
That's the beautiful of certain foods such as cauliflower. That's the beauty about a lot of food. They can be used in so many different ways that can keep your recipes fresh and keep your diet interesting.
One tip that I can offer when cooking cauliflower; keep it mind that, because it is so similar to broccoli, it cooks the same way. Which means that you can't oversteam or overcook it, because it will become mushy. And nobody likes mushy food, right? Exact babies, but we not babies around here right? Right.
We about the love of cauliflower around here, so call broccoli and let's have a food family reunion!
