Did you eat Go-gurt as a child (the flavored yogurt in the tubes you could take to eat on the go)? I loved eating those as a child, but then I stopped eating yogurt for awhile.
In fact, I didn't get back into eating yogurt until I started working out seriously about three years ago and my trainer recommended that I try Greek yogurt. I went to the store and tried plain Greek yogurt and it was HORRIBLE (to me!). But, I began to try different flavors and varieties and soon found ways to enjoy it in my meals and cooking.
What's interesting was, I always considered yogurt to be unhealthy. But through knowledge and understanding, I've found that Greek yogurt is actually better than I thought it could be for me.
Greek yogurt is a great, hidden gem in terms of protein. One cup of Greek yogurt has 24 grams of protein in it. Imagine adding that to a fruit smoothie. That is a huge boost of protein to include with what could already be a sweet dish ... without adding any extra sugar.
But, there are other ways to include Greek yogurt in your dishes. It makes a great swap for sour cream (think about adding it as a topping to your loaded sweet potato). You can add it into certain baked dishes (like this Greek Yogurt Belgium Waffle that I paired with Air Fryer Chipotle Chicken for a healthy twist on chicken and waffles).
We about the love of Greek yogurt and I hope this post makes the item less Greek to you (get it? Greek means foreign or weird? Okay, never mind).
