Nothing tastes better during the summer than a sweet, juicy ripe peach, juice dripping down your chin and sliding down your fingers, quenching your thirst and tickling your tongue.

Many people enjoy eating peaches for dessert or for a snack. A peach cobbler is one of the most popular dishes. It's a staple in many southern households, but at the end of the day, a peach is still a fruit. A member of the stone fruit family, it is closely related to nectarines, plums, apricots and cherries.

Peaches hold many unique health benefits, such as helping to improve skin, digestion, boost your immune system, help manage your weight, your vision and lower your risk for cancer.

But, of course, some of these benefits won't work if your peaches are smothered in ice cream and whipped cream every night. But how else can you enjoy this sweet, juicy fruit without turning it into a rich dessert? You would be surprised how a peach can be incorporated into your diet.

The easiest way to enjoy a peach is on its own as a simple snack. But, if you get bored with eating peaches for a snack every day, you can do a few other things. Of course, during the summer when they are in season and they are at their freshest and juiciest, you can throw them into a smoothie with your favorite fruits and plain (Greek) yogurt. You can top your oatmeal with a few slices of fresh peaches. One of the best ways to enjoy a peach, especially during the summer, is to throw it on the grill for a few minutes for a smoky sweet taste (I promise, it sounds weird, but it tastes amazing!). One thing that I've had that blew my mind and taste buds was spiced peaches; fresh peaches stored in a jar with warming spices like cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, all-spice and other spices, and stored in a cupboard as long as you want. It is so delicious. Get creative with what you think will make.
